PROHIBITION ON OUTDOOR BURNING NOW IN EFFECT
The Borough of Mount Penn has adopted the Uniform Construction Code and underneath that law uses the International Residential Code 2018, International Building Code 2018, National Electric Code, International Mechanical Code 2018, and International Plumbing Code 2018 for inspections.
The Uniform Construction Code requires that permits be acquired by an owner or authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish or change the occupancy of a residential or commercial building or erect, install, enlarge, alter, repair, remove, convert or replace an electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system. A quick list of common projects that do not require permits is included below.
Some projects will require one permit, but there are times when a project is required to be inspected under two or more codes that requires additional permits. If you have questions about what permits are needed, you may contact the Borough Office, or you may use the Permit Checklist button for a simple form to guide you which permits you may need.
